Stephen has more than 24 years experience in the investment and insurance industries. He is the Managing Director and Partner responsible for the Retirement Planning Division at BGA Financial. His focus is on the design, implementation, and on-going service of Employer Sponsored 401k plans. Stephen holds an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation from The Center of Fiduciary Management/ fi360 and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) from the National Association of Plan Advisors. Steve specializes in providing highly effective retirement plan communication and education for plan participants as well as robust fiduciary support and ongoing due diligence for the Plan Sponsor. Stephen has been named to the Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors* for 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. This list recognizes the top financial advisers who specialize in serving defined contribution (DC) retirement plans, such as 401(k) and 403(b) plans, across the US. Stephen is a 1981 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds his Series 6,7,63, and 65 securities licenses. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Prior to joining the financial services industry in 1995 he was a Program Manager with GE. Stephen resides in Falmouth, Maine.
